(There are a couple stills at the start and then the video.) Another friend filmed a longer version, which I will post once she edits it (she's a professional TV editor, so it's worth the wait!) I had a great time, and in addition to meeting Ransom Riggs and Kendare Blake, the two talented authors I read with (whose autographed books are now on my bookshelf!), I met several other local authors, including Kathleen O'Dell, Candace Ryan and Timothy Power, and many, many avid booklovers. It's always great to meet other book freaks like myself. :-)
Although it's still a month away to the official launch, I'll be reading from "Don't Expect Magic" at the West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday, October 2. Since I don't have the book yet, I'll be giving away copies of the first chapter, along with signed bookmarks.
Appearing with me on the Teen Stage at 1:55 p.m. (sharp!), will be Kendare Blake ("Anna Dressed in Blood") and Ransom Riggs ("Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children"). If you're in L.A., come join me! And check out the many other authors appearing... |
